High-school children scientific projects 2022

 In 2022 RTU RBIDC researchers supervised 3 scientific projects for 3 high school children:

• 12^th-grade schooler Aleskandra Dubovska from the Riga State Gymnasium No. 3 - "Development of injectable hydrogels for biomedical applications"; supervisors RTU RBIDC leading researcher Kristīne Šalma-Ancāne and researcher Artemijs Ščeglovs;
• 12^th-grade schooler Jeļizaveta Ševčenko from Riga State Gymnasium No. 1 “Development of hydrogels for osteoporotic bone fractures”, supervisors RTU RBIDC leading researcher Kristīne Šalma-Ancāne and research assistant Anna Rubīna;
• 12^th-grade schooler Undīne Plaude from Riga State Gymnasium No. 3 “Development of injectable biomaterials for bone regeneration”; supervisors RTU RBIDC leading researcher Kristīne Šalma-Ancāne, RTU RBIDC research assistant Anastasija Tumiloviča.

High-school children scientific projects 2021

RISEus2 RTU RBIDC is excited to boost the interest of the younger generation in science and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics activities! 2021 was fruitful with supervision of 4 scientific projects for 5 high school children:

• 12^th-grade grade school student at The Riga French Lycée Nikolīna Rutenberga "Injectable gel for bone treatment"; supervisor RTU RBIDC leading researcher Kristīne Šalma-Ancāne;
• 11^th-grade school student at Nereta Janis Jaunsudrabins' High School Samanta Cvetkova “Local Strontium Ranelate Delivery Systems”, supervisor RTU RBIDC researcher Elīza Tračuma;
• School students at Agenskalns State Gymnasium Aleksandra Šmeisa, Patrīcija Nikola Spriņģe “Calcium phosphate/biopolymer composites for bone regeneration”; supervisors RTU RBIDC leading researcher Kristīne Šalma-Ancāne, RTU RBIDC research assistant Anna Rubīna;
• 12^th-grade school student at Rezekne Secondary School No. 5 Sandis Bulduris “Biomimetic gels for osteoporotic bone regeneration”; supervisors RTU RBIDC leading researcher Kristīne Šalma-Ancāne, RTU RBIDC research assistant Anna Rubīna.

We are proud that the scientific project of Samanta Cvetkova received the highest grade in national and international level:

• 1st grade in the 45th Scientific Conference of Latvian Secondary School Students, section “Chemistry”;
• finalist in the international competition The Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair 2021 - Regeneron ISEF 2021: https://projectboard.world/isef/project/chem060---drug-delivery-systems

The research project “Biomimetic gels for osteoporotic bone regeneration” developed by 12^th-grade schooler Sandis Bulduris from Rezekne Secondary School No. 5 in 2021, received the highest grade in the national and international levels:

• 3^rd grade in the 46th State Conference of scientific research work of Latvian school students, Section “Chemistry”;
